Dutta et al [50] recently reported that the aggressiveness of PDAC is directly correlated to pyruvate-to-lactate conversion measured using HP-MR (Table 1) and ex vivo 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy in a panel of well-annotated patient-derived PDAC xenograft (PDX) mouse models. The ex vivo 1 H NMR spectroscopy results were also in good agreement with in vivo pyruvate-to-lactate conversion, showing a higher abundance of lactate in aggressive tumors.
