Update: This is an archived post. The latest impact factor released in June 2021 for JMI has improved to 2.96 (2020).
(Philadelphia/Toronto, July 2, 2020) We are pleased to announce that JMIR Medical Informatics (JMI) has received an impact factor of 2.58 according to the newly released Journal Citation Reports (Web of Science Group, 2020).
In addition to JMI, we are also proud to announce the impact factors for other JMIR journals. The Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR) now has an impact factor of 5.03, JMIR mHealth and uHealth (JMU) now has an impact factor of 4.31, JMIR Serious Games (JSG) received an impact factor of 3.53 and with an inaugural impact factor of 3.54, JMIR Mental Health (JMH) has been recognized for the important work that has been published since the journal first launched in 2014.
JMIR Publications, now with a portfolio of almost 30 journals, strives to help leaders in the health technology space disseminate their ideas and research results. We take pride in our stringent peer-review and editing processes that ensure the research we publish is always of the highest quality. We thank our editors and reviewers who help us to succeed in this mission. Most importantly, it is our authors, who continue to share their unique and ground-breaking research with us and the public, who deserve the main credit for JMIR journals achieving a top journal status in digital health. By deciding to send their best paper to a JMIR journal, they have helped JMIR Publications to be the uncontested leading publisher in the digital health space.
While we are proud of our impact factor, we do want to stress that impact factors should not be the only metric to gauge the influence and quality of a journal. We will not support any misuse of impact factors. Although not all JMIR Publications’ journals have impact factors yet, we have the same quality expectations and processes for all our journals. All papers undergo a thorough peer-review and editing process. All applicable journals are indexed in PubMed. We encourage authors to consider other quality metrics as well, such as top author satisfaction ratings on sites such as SciRev or Google, where JMIR also has consistent 5-star ratings.
JMIR Publications is committed to advancing digital health and scholarly communication. Join us and submit your paper today!
