Targeted Behavior Change Communication Using a Mobile Health Platform to Increase Uptake of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets Among Pregnant Women in Tanzania: Hati Salama “Secure Voucher” Study Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial

Targeted Behavior Change Communication Using a Mobile Health Platform to Increase Uptake of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets Among Pregnant Women in Tanzania: Hati Salama “Secure Voucher” Study Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial

Pregnant women and adolescents are at heightened risk of morbidity and mortality by malaria, with 22% of pregnant women exposed to malaria in East and Southern Africa in 2020 [1]. Malaria infection during pregnancy can result in miscarriage, premature delivery, low birth weight, or death in neonates, as well as maternal anemia and maternal death [2].

Development of a Clinical Decision Support Tool to Implement Asthma Management Guidelines in Pediatric Primary Care: Qualitative Study

Development of a Clinical Decision Support Tool to Implement Asthma Management Guidelines in Pediatric Primary Care: Qualitative Study

The National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) guidelines are designed to prevent and reduce pediatric asthma morbidity via disseminating state of the science guidance to health care providers on asthma diagnosis and management [7].

Machine Learning in the Management of Patients Undergoing Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation: Scoping Review

Machine Learning in the Management of Patients Undergoing Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation: Scoping Review

This contributes to long-term rises in both morbidity and mortality rates [8] as well as a growing strain on health care costs [9]. Catheter ablation (CA) represents the most effective clinical intervention currently available for AF [10]. When patients receive their first CA treatment, the effectiveness rate can reach 60%-80% within 1 year [11,12]. However, the long-term efficacy is not optimal , and the success rate decreases to 50%-60% at 3 to 5 years [13-15].

Implementation of Regular Lifestyle Counseling During Long-Term Follow-Up Care of Childhood Cancer Survivors: Monocentric Prospective Study

Implementation of Regular Lifestyle Counseling During Long-Term Follow-Up Care of Childhood Cancer Survivors: Monocentric Prospective Study

As many of these survivors develop chronic health conditions later in life, prevention measures gain importance in follow-up care and management of these CCS in order to reduce long-term morbidity and maintain a good health-related quality of life. Regular physical activity can have a major impact on metabolic health and reduce risk factors for metabolic syndrome [11,17,32].

Characteristics and Popularity of Videos of Abusive Head Trauma Prevention: Systematic Appraisal

Characteristics and Popularity of Videos of Abusive Head Trauma Prevention: Systematic Appraisal

AHT primary prevention is pivotal because its mortality rate ranges from 7% to 26% [12-14], and nonlethal forms are associated with severe long-term morbidity, notably neurodevelopmental impairment [15].

Accuracy, Reproducibility, and Responsiveness to Treatment of Home Spirometry in Cystic Fibrosis: Multicenter, Retrospective, Observational Study

Accuracy, Reproducibility, and Responsiveness to Treatment of Home Spirometry in Cystic Fibrosis: Multicenter, Retrospective, Observational Study

Early detection and treatment of pulmonary deterioration is imperative for people with CF to prevent morbidity and mortality [1,2]. The forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) measured by spirometry is the most reliable parameter for early detection of this pulmonary deterioration [1,2]. Traditionally, spirometry is performed in a clinic guided by trained pulmonary function technicians, but small portable spirometers are also increasingly used by people with CF at home.

Design and Implementation of an Opioid Scorecard for Hospital System–Wide Peer Comparison of Opioid Prescribing Habits: Observational Study

Design and Implementation of an Opioid Scorecard for Hospital System–Wide Peer Comparison of Opioid Prescribing Habits: Observational Study

Weiner et al [42] describe a system-wide initiative that successfully reduced opioid-related morbidity and mortality. They include a mention of “benchmarking reports” with peer comparison elements but do not further detail what was included in these reports or how they were delivered. Despite evidence of its positive impact on prescribing, a report such as the one presented in this paper has never been produced outside of isolated EDs nor has it been implemented as broadly.

Multivisceral Oncological Resections Involving the Pancreas: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Multivisceral Oncological Resections Involving the Pancreas: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

While isolated pancreatic operations are acknowledged as intricate interventions bearing considerable risks, including considerable mortality and morbidity rates [2,4], a noteworthy proportion of patients, roughly one-third, undergo pancreatic resection as part of a multivisceral resection [7]. If oncological multivisceral resections include high risk interventions such as a pancreas resection, this can be associated with an additional increase in complication rates [2,3,5,8].
