Health Care Worker Usage of Large-Scale Health Information Exchanges in Japan: User-Level Audit Log Analysis Study

Health Care Worker Usage of Large-Scale Health Information Exchanges in Japan: User-Level Audit Log Analysis Study

To study the actual use of HIEs, audit logs have often been analyzed [14-25]. The Japanese Association of Healthcare Information Systems Industry published a technical document called “JAHIS’s Guide Ver.1.0 on Evaluation Indicators for Regional Medical Collaboration” [26], which emphasizes the importance of evaluating HIE systems using audit log analysis.

Developing an Audit and Feedback Dashboard for Family Physicians: User-Centered Design Process

Developing an Audit and Feedback Dashboard for Family Physicians: User-Centered Design Process

Audit and feedback (A&F) involves delivering a summary of a recipient’s performance and is widely used as a quality improvement strategy across health settings to enable data-driven improvement [1]. Reporting metrics may include laboratory testing, adherence to clinical guidelines, patient experience data, disease-specific clinical quality measures, or prescribing.

Excessive Drinking Among Men Who Have Sex With Men Recruited From Web-Based Resources: Cross-sectional Questionnaire Study

Excessive Drinking Among Men Who Have Sex With Men Recruited From Web-Based Resources: Cross-sectional Questionnaire Study

The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) is a 10-item scale that screens for alcohol use disorders to identify and assist individuals at high risk [30]. It includes several subscales, the most widespread of which is the AUDIT-Consumption (AUDIT-C) (consumption items, Q1-Q3) [31-34]. However, although AUDIT-C performs well as a proxy for hazardous drinking, it is less accurate in identifying alcohol-related problems [35-38], especially within the framework of general population surveys [39].

The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgical Services in Singapore: Retrospective Quantitative Study

The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgical Services in Singapore: Retrospective Quantitative Study

We will be reporting our audit evaluating the impact of COVID-19 at its peak on our unit and its impact on HPB malignancy operations. This study was an audit of the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on the HPB surgical unit and thus was exempt from ethics board review [8]. This study did not result in a departure from routine clinical care and no patient contact was made nor were any patient identifiers retrieved, stored, or disseminated. The HPB surgical service included 4 full-time faculty.

Digital Assessment Tools Using Animation Features to Quantify Alcohol Consumption: Systematic App Store and Literature Review

Digital Assessment Tools Using Animation Features to Quantify Alcohol Consumption: Systematic App Store and Literature Review

Routine screening tools for primary care such as the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) developed by the World Health Organization [13] and its abbreviated form AUDIT–Consumption (AUDIT-C) [14] also rely on this concept. The standard drink, defined as a beverage volume containing a fixed amount of pure alcohol, facilitates the comparison and assessment of alcohol quantities across different beverage types with varying alcohol content. However, this concept is problematic for 2 main reasons.

Analysis of a Web-Based Dashboard to Support the Use of National Audit Data in Quality Improvement: Realist Evaluation

Analysis of a Web-Based Dashboard to Support the Use of National Audit Data in Quality Improvement: Realist Evaluation

The aim of this study, therefore, is to investigate how, why, and to what extent a novel quality dashboard (Qual Dash) supported the use of national audit data for quality improvement in an English hospital setting. Qual Dash is a customizable, web-based dashboard that was designed and evaluated using data from 2 national audits: The Myocardial Ischemia National Audit Project (MINAP) and the Pediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet).

Utilization of the iOS Shortcuts App to Generate a Surgical Logbook Tool: Feasibility Study

Utilization of the iOS Shortcuts App to Generate a Surgical Logbook Tool: Feasibility Study

Surgical audit is one of the mainstays of reflective practice and improving patient outcomes. Audit allows for the capture of operative results, operation numbers, billing information, and complications. In Australia, it is mandatory to maintain a logbook when undertaking surgical training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS); RACS provides a minimum and extended suggested data set for both trainee and consultant logbooks [1].

Secondary Prevention of Hip Fragility Fractures During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Service Evaluation of “MRS BAD BONES”

Secondary Prevention of Hip Fragility Fractures During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Service Evaluation of “MRS BAD BONES”

The department approved the study (ID number: 698), and confirmed that as the project was a local audit without use of patient identifiable information, there was no need for further ethical approval. This study was based on patients with femoral neck fractures admitted to the major trauma center at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) between February 2020 and June 2020. Patients were recruited consecutively by admission date, and the same inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied.
