Me SH: Medical Subject Headings.
For each SR, V1 was transformed into a V2 query by replacing each Me SH term in the query with a free-text term that had to be present in the title or in the abstract. To do this, we simply replaced the [Me SH] tag with a [Title/Abstract] tag. Hence, the resulting V2 did not contain any explicit [Me SH] tags (Figure 1). Lastly, the V3 (Me SH-only) query was obtained by transforming all free-text terms into Me SH terms.

Cardiovascular Comorbidities in COVID-19: Comprehensive Analysis of Key Topics
It extracts the Me SH descriptors associated with an article, along with its unique PMID, and translates a given Me SH descriptor code to the corresponding Me SH descriptor name. Since the code of the Me SH descriptor embeds the location of the term in the Me SH tree, our script can determine the branches from which a Me SH descriptor originates.

The medical subject heading (Me SH) category C [20] head chapters (eg, cardiovascular, immune, digestive) were also annotated at the entity level. This annotated data set was used to train both the named-entity recognition step with the symptoms and disorders labels and the multilabel classification step with Me SH [20] category C chapter head labels.
