Development of a COVID-19–Related Anti-Asian Tweet Data Set: Quantitative Study

Development of a COVID-19–Related Anti-Asian Tweet Data Set: Quantitative Study

Individuals of Asian descent (we refer to the colloquial usage of the word prevalent in North America, where “Asian” is used to refer to people from East Asia, particularly China) have been subjected to stigma and hate speech since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is particularly evident on social media [1].

Recommendations From a Chinese-Language Survey of Knowledge and Prevention of Skin Cancer Among Chinese Populations Internationally: Cross-sectional Questionnaire Study

Recommendations From a Chinese-Language Survey of Knowledge and Prevention of Skin Cancer Among Chinese Populations Internationally: Cross-sectional Questionnaire Study

Chinese people internationally are often [8,10,28,38]—but not always [16,27,39]—grouped into Asian and East Asian categories for studies related to skin cancer rates and behavioral risks, impeding extrapolation for subgroups. Only 2 studies were identified comparing the perspectives on the risks of skin cancer among specific ethnic Chinese populations from different sociocultural backgrounds [38,40].

The primary objective of this health education intervention was to promote healthy dietary attitudes and self-efficacy among South Asian American young adults. Identifying Preferred Appearance and Functional Requirements of Aged Care Robots Among Older Chinese Immigrants: Cross-Sectional Study

Identifying Preferred Appearance and Functional Requirements of Aged Care Robots Among Older Chinese Immigrants: Cross-Sectional Study

Older Chinese immigrants are the largest older Asian ethnic population in New Zealand [3]. Aging in a foreign land can be complex, posing increasing challenges for gerontology scholars, practitioners, and policy makers. Self-supported aging in place has been reported as a benefit for enhancing older people’s health and quality of life, as it supports the continuity of the environment and promotes independent living within the community [5].

Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Hong Kong: Registry-Based Study From 2017 to 2023

Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Hong Kong: Registry-Based Study From 2017 to 2023

This finding aligns with those of most previous studies [11-13], but a different trend has been reported in some Asian populations. For instance, Riyapan et al [14] reported no significant change in the occurrence of OHCA in public places in Thailand before and during the pandemic. Watanabe et al [15] also reported no decrease in the occurrence of OHCA in public places.

Racial Disparities in Patient-Provider Communication During Telehealth Visits Versus Face-to-face Visits Among Asian and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Patients With Cancer: Cross-sectional Analysis

Racial Disparities in Patient-Provider Communication During Telehealth Visits Versus Face-to-face Visits Among Asian and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Patients With Cancer: Cross-sectional Analysis

There is a paucity of literature evaluating patient satisfaction and the quality of communication during telehealth encounters among Asian patients and Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander (NHOPI) patients. Asians and Pacific Islanders are two of the fastest growing racial groups in the United States [22,23], and cancer incidence and mortality rates are higher among patients belonging to these groups than those among White patients [24].
